The Earth, right now

The Sun with this month’s spots, the Earth at today’s place on its orbit, the Moon at its real phase. Each theme below opens its series, with their sources and limits.

Each theme presents series measured or modeled by reference institutions (NOAA, USGS, NASA, SILSO, GFZ…), imported unchanged, with their unit, uncertainty, licence and retrieval date. Correspondences between phenomena are tested statistically and presented with their limits.

Sun

Image gallery, sunspots, cycles, flares, irradiance.

Space weather

Live, aurora, geomagnetic storms, solar wind.

Earthquakes and volcanoes

Seismic catalogues, eruptions, stratospheric aerosols.

Ocean and climate

El Niño, oscillations, currents, temperature, sea level, CO₂, sea ice.

Moon, tides and rotation

Lunar phases and distance, eclipses, tide gauges, length of day.

Comets

3I/ATLAS, the interstellar visitor, and current comets.

Asteroids

Close approaches, impact risk, fireballs.

Magnetic poles

Modeled dip poles since 8000 BCE, surface field, the last reversal.

What this platform does, and does not do
It redraws published data without altering them: values are the providers’ own, aggregations (monthly or yearly means) are explicit, and every number links to its source. It produces no new scientific result and makes no forecast. The “Correspondences” pages test hypotheses from the literature with standard methods and keep reminding that correlation is not causation.
